A tomato based creamy sauce with Italian flavours
Ingredients:
1 medium size onion (diced)
4-5 cloves garlic (chopped)
1 bottle passata (Tomato puree) approximately 400g
1 tub mascarpone cheese (about 250g)
A handful of basil leaves
1 tsp dried oregano
Method:
Saute onions and garlic. Add passata and the herbs cook for few minutes. Add salt and cook until it starts bubbling. Finally add the cheese and mix it nicely. Sauce is ready!
Note: if passata is not available boil fresh tomatoes and grind them. Just add enough water to boil them and use the same water while grinding them. Sieve the boiled and grind tomatoes to get a creamy puree.
Tips:
This sauce can be combined with any boiled pasta to create your own pasta dish!
